Bridgewaters Salon & Spa had originally purchased a compass image for their logo that was so beautiful, but not easy to use. The file was overly complex, with a feathered halo they could not get rid of. Unfortunately, the file format was not accessible.

I recreated the compass in Illustrator, using simpler lines and more definite contrast. With the addition of a new fonts, the logo now prints well and looks good against any background, and at any size.
